This project finds inspiration from the classical and romanticism art movement. Exploring draping from ancient greek culture and classicism, which heavily influenced the pre-raphaelites, I evoke the notion of the romantic by working with soft chiffons and silks. As always, I explore juxtaposing this notion of romanticism and femininity with masculinity by researching into the armours worn by greek soldiers and the knights found in pre-raphaelite paintings. Here, working with leathers and heavier fabrics, and mixing this with softer fabrics, the woman becomes not the damsel in distress, but a figure with both strength and femininity.
